| ![]() | |||
Fiestas in Andalusia are a time of joy, celebration, fairgrounds, music, dancing and generally being merry. The pueblos surrounding our short break accommodations commence their annual fiesta celebrations as early as the month of March/April and the season of fiestas continues through until the month of October. Across Spain the Easter Celebrations, Semana Santa, mark a particularly important celebration and time of year. The significance of the Easter celebrations in Spain has to be witnessed in order to be fully appreciated. During the month of June the City of Granada holds the Corpus Christi Fiesta. The fiesta lasts all week and is a time when the people of Granada put on their finest clothes and parade their horses. The site of the fiesta is located on the outskirts of Granada and there is something for everyone. During the course of the year, the local town of Íllora hosts a number fiestas. The town´s major fiesta is held during the second week of August; the Fiesta de San Rogelio, the patron saint of Íllora, is held during September. |
